Ludwig Haas created an impressive sculpture for the
newly designed "Gateway to Boehler" that was
unveiled on May 8, 2008 in Kapfenberg.
Between November 2007 and May 2008, with the
support of both the management and the
workforce, the artist was able to vivify a
monumental body of steel greeting and bidding
goodbye to visitors and staff at the main entrance
to the company grounds.
The sculpture came into being from a specially cast
23 ton ingot of special steel. Throughout its
creation, all of the essential steps in steelmaking
that Boehler carefully performs were included in the
artistic process.
